BSAR NSW has joined the NSW State Emergency Service (SES)

As of 1 May 2018 BSAR NSW is now officially a NSW SES unit. We will now be known as “NSW SES BSAR”, and will be a specialist remote area search and rescue unit of the NSW SES. As always we are ready to assist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; but now we do it as a NSW SES unit.

This means we have ceased our affiliation with the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA). BSAR is proud of its association with the VRA over many decades and wishes the VRA well for the future.

This website will be updated shortly to reflect our new parent organisation.

A Remote Area Land Search and Rescue Service for NSW.

Our members are fit and experienced outdoor enthusiasts, who are trained and equipped to be self-sufficient in rugged bushland, able to operate for several days without external support.  Our many skills include navigation, search techniques, canyoning and cliff rescue.  Our members donate their time so these services are free to the public.
